Michael Jackson’s funeral is going to be at the Staples centre in LA on Tuesday, as I mentioned in a previous post. Anyone in the area who (for their own reasons) would like to pay the $25 fee to attend may wanna hold their horses. There was a bulletin put out today by the organizers, that 11,000 tickets are going to be given away for free.

Everyone on Earth was at the American Music Awards were held at the Shrine Auditorium in LA, last night including this flawless creature named Rihanna who won something or maybe two things. I was falling asleep through most of that shit. However, I did manage to wake up and see this hot piece perform. She’s like a moving wax figure. It’s really weird. Weirdly stunning. It’s almost certainly sort of scary to have a conversation with her.

Ronald McDonald’s secret love kid is that you?

Sincerely, I love Lauryn but has she gone mental? Or maybe she doesn’t and that’s why she put this atrocious outfit together. I’m into it though. I can handle the crazy but I’ve always hated clowns.

The big voice overwhelmed the beatbox Wednesday night as Jordin Sparks was crowned the newest and youngest “American Idol.” Sparks, 17, of Glendale, Ariz., prevailed over beatboxer Blake Lewis, 25, of Bothell, Wash., after a triumphant performance Tuesday that wowed the show’s judges and the viewers who gave her a majority of the record 74 million votes cast.
“Mom, Dad, I love you,” Sparks, the daughter of retired NFL player Phillippi Sparks, said tearfully after a bearhug from Lewis.
The contest came down to either the stronger singer, Sparks, or the better entertainer, Lewis. Sparks delivered her songs simply and powerfully; Lewis’ flourishes included his sound effects and sharp dance moves.
The finale pulled out the stops and the stars, with Gwen Stefani, Tony Bennett, Bette Midler, Green Day and more singing.
The Gossip singer stripped off during her set at North London’s The Barfly.
And the horde loved it – except for one gentleman who was hit in the face by a flying sanitary towel.
Later Beth stole a camera from the paparazzi to snap them, but by the night’s end she was drooping on the floor.
This band can really hit out a tune, and in these days of anorexic stick insects it’s nice to see you don’t have to be thin to have a talent. But please, keep your clothes on!

Christina Aguilera was seen at Mercer hotel – New York over the weekend looking like some sort of crazy bag lady. What is in these pictures? She’s got her face covered, her hair is done up like a 60-year-old cafeteria lady, she’s walking her dogs, and she’s got a pillow, just in case she needs to take a nap on the street. I’m trying to come up with a scenario where all of this would make sense, but all I can picture is her trying to fight crime and beating people with her pillow as she’s yelling, “Beware criminals! Bag Lady fights for justice! And knitting!”

Denver law-enforcement officials are warning people who use file-sharing software, principally LimeWire, to be very cautious for a computer security breach that could put their personal data into the wrong hands.
During an identity theft investigation that led to a local apartment, Denver police found personal and financial information from about 75 individual and business accounts located across the country. The information included tax records, bank account information, online bill-paying records and other data.
The Denver District Attorney’s Office, in a press release, said the information “appears to have been stolen directly from computers that were using LimeWire.” The office said apparently the hackers were able to access “every file, every document” from computers anywhere in the country.
IT MAY have taken Brit soul-funk outfit Jamiroquai 15 years and six albums to do it, but this retrospective is certainly a long time coming. Perhaps it’s time for leading man Jay Kay to move to different things after this (though that doesn’t look likely), but Kay and his ever changing line-up of cohorts can perhaps be satisfied they’ve kept the soulful, funky train going this long.
The compilation is a blast from top to tail with 17 chart-busting hits from the group’s extraordinary career. There are two new tracks to bring the collection up-to-date as well. Runaway – a blistering mix of disco strings and infectious funky bass lines has already scaled the Brit singles charts and there’s also Radio to think about.
But the group’s back catalogue of singles that truly matter; serving a stunning reminder of the sheer strength and depth of Jamiroquai’s music.
From the vanguard of the early 1990s acid jazz revolution to becoming one of the most recognisable musicians of a generation, Jamiroquai’s signature sound elevated acid jazz from a label to a genre and introduced to the world Jay Kay, the quick-stepping professional otherwise known as Jamiroquai.
Not only did Kay put a face to dance music but he had an impassioned eco-political message that was a decade ahead of its time.
As a chronological compilation, High Times starts with the rare grooveyears with When You Gonna Learn, Too Young To Die, Blow Your Mind, Emergency on Planet Earth and Space Cowboy.
His commercial breakthrough came with the classic piano-string-bass driven Virtual Insanity (who can forget the video that goes with it), Cosmic Girl, Alright and High Times, while monster (yes, that Godzilla theme) hit Deeper Underground and Canned Heat consolidated his status as a household name.
Completing this package is a catalogue of funk house masterpieces (Little L, Love Foolosophy, Corner of the Earth, Feels Just Like It Should, etc) that hold up nicely and doubles the enjoyment for punters needing the classics and recent notables.
Also on release is a DVD collection of the mind-bending videos that captured the imagination of millions and took Jamiroquai global.
As for Jay Kay, he is still the top cat with hat, and we all hope he’s got a lot more lives left in him. Another 15 years of this kind of prime soul funk wouldn’t be half bad now would it?
I waited for it so long and now it’s out! Shakira’s hips didn’t lie with her preceding release which made it to the zenith of the charts and spent four months in the Top 10, offering her record label Sony BMG their greatest selling download ever. “Illegal” features the famous Carlos Santana on guitar and sees her turn to Latino-country ballade ring.

Amy Winehouse Was Arrested
April 28, 2008 in Comments, News | Tags: amy winhouse, music | Leave a comment
Amy Winehouse, the UK’s top heroine, was arrested in London on suspicion of assault late Friday afternoon. Winehouse allegedly attacked two men on Wednesday, head-butting one and punching the other as she tried to hail a taxi in the north London district of Camden.
Winehouse’s husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is also behind bars awaiting trial on assault and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice charges.
As Pete Doherty is currently incarcerated as well, this is no doubt a difficult time for London’s street drug industry.
